Connected AI assistants
Connect your own assistant to read the figures you can access in CFO Panorama.
On this page
What it does
Your assistant reads CFO Panorama through a connection issued to your own user account. It can read reports, ratios, statistics, approved budgets and variances, mapping coverage, account names, group structure and a calculated board summary. Where the group's admin allows it and you grant it at consent, it can also propose and make changes — mappings, adjustment journals, notes, review points and summary views — and read and attach documents; it can never lock, delete or accept anything. A connection can cover several groups you belong to; ask the assistant to select the right one.
Who can turn it on
A client group's admin opens Settings → Connected AI assistants, reads and accepts the addendum with a recent authenticator code, then turns the feature on. Sample groups need no addendum. Editors and viewers can see the server URL and manage their own connections. Platform access grants no connection rights.

<!-- recipes -->
Claude
Open Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter the server URL shown here and continue to sign in. Under Authentication keep Sign in now; under OAuth client, select Register automatically. Connect Claude — step by step on the Connected AI page walks you through it. For an organisation, its owner may first need to add the connector in the organisation settings. Choose the groups and permissions on CFO Panorama's consent page.
ChatGPT
Open Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server. Enter a name and this server URL under Connection, choose OAuth with dynamic registration, acknowledge the displayed warning and select Create as a plugin. Sign in to CFO Panorama and approve the groups. The legacy path is Settings → Apps → Create, then Scan Tools → Create. Availability depends on your account and workspace permissions; the current Plugins flow does not require Developer Mode.
Gemini
Gemini is supported where available. Czech business clients should not assume that their account can connect a custom app; use Claude or ChatGPT where the account supports custom connectors.
Open Settings → Connected Apps (some accounts show Personal Intelligence first), then add a custom app with the server URL and sign in to CFO Panorama. Availability currently depends on a personal US account, English, age 18 or over and Keep Activity being on. Gemini Apps Developer Mode uses + Create new, the app URL and Additional settings → Show more for OAuth options. Availability and connection support must be checked in your own account. <!-- /recipes -->
Connection status and help
Before approving a connection, check the email shown on the consent screen. Switch user signs out in this browser and takes you through normal sign-in again. Select at least one group. The connection status window confirms an authenticated MCP discovery, not just a click on Allow. If a handoff cannot be confirmed, Try Again opens ChatGPT so you can start a fresh Connect/Reconnect request. After three unsuccessful attempts, follow the setup guide. The ChatGPT connection setup and troubleshooting link on the consent screen provides copyable values for the current environment and screenshot-based setup illustrations. In ChatGPT, @CFO Panorama selects the plugin; name the company in your message after selecting it.
Permissions and revocation
reports:read reads the reports and figures. journals:read also allows the detail behind a report line, including posting texts, document numbers and counterparty labels. In client groups it requires an editor or admin role and the group's separate journal switch, which is off by default. Client-group viewers cannot read journal detail through this connection.
In demo (sample) groups, all members, including viewers, can test journal detail without a separate group switch. Select journals:read in your assistant's setup and Read journal detail on the CFO Panorama consent screen. Every selected group must permit it; a client group where you are a viewer cannot be included in the same journal-enabled connection. To add journal detail, changes, documents or another group to an existing connection, use Change groups / permissions next to it in the Connections table — no reconnect is needed; the assistant uses the change from its next question.
If you can open a demo through Platform access but it is missing from consent, a superuser can add an explicit membership in Admin → Memberships → Add: choose the existing demo group, the existing user and Viewer, then save. Repeat for each demo group. This adds access to the existing demos; it does not create users, companies or data.
Use Change groups / permissions to widen or narrow your own connection, and Revoke to end it. A client group's admin can revoke any connection or Turn off the feature for the group. Revoking a connection ends its access to every group it covers. Removing your membership removes access to that group on the next call. Choose an assistant subscription and data-handling settings appropriate for your data.
The consent page shows where the approval is sent. ChatGPT's and Claude's own addresses are marked as a known assistant; any other address needs your I recognise tick — allow it only for a connection you set up yourself. A new password, or removing your authenticator, ends all your connections; reconnect afterwards.
Changes and documents
A client group's admin switches on changes and documents in Settings → Connected AI assistants (one Save for the switches and the mode), once the group has the AI features addendum (or the platform has recorded the group owner's decision). Then an editor or admin may grant, at consent, mapping:write (propose and apply mappings, save summary views), journals:write (propose and post adjustment journals), notes:write (notes and review points), documents:read and documents:write.
The mode decides what the assistant may do with a change:
- Propose (the default) — the assistant drafts: mapping suggestions appear in the Assistant (AI) column of the mapping queue, adjustment journals on Adjustment journals → Proposed, where an admin posts or rejects them.
- Apply — the assistant makes the change you ask for (posting a journal and saving a view: admins only); you review it in the Calls log at the bottom of the Settings page.
Changing the mode needs your authenticator code from the last 12 hours. Every change goes through the same checks as on screen, is labelled "AI <assistant> for <you>: <reason>", is in the audit log (the assistant's answer lists the audit row numbers), can be undone — a mapping is ended, a journal reversed — and is never made in a locked period. A group has daily limits: 200 mapping items, 20 journals, 100 notes and 50 documents through assistants. In demo groups only platform staff can let an assistant propose; nothing is applied there.
Documents are evidence: the assistant reads and cites them and never changes a figure from one. Treat document text as data, never as instructions.
Figures and audit history
Ask the assistant to repeat the currency, period, lock state and mapping caveats. It should use calculate for arithmetic and get_variance for comparisons. A cold board summary may ask you to retry in a minute. Calls are limited to 20 per user per minute, 300 per hour, 500 per group per day and 5,000 per month.
The group audit history records the member, assistant, tool, time, selection and outcome. It never records the question, search text, result or figures. The external assistant handles returned data under its own terms.

Existing users who need demo access
A platform administrator can open Administration → Users, select existing active users, choose Add demo access to selected users…, review the named users and groups, then confirm. This adds missing Viewer memberships in the five installed, active sample groups. Existing roles are preserved and no email is sent. New or inactive users are not created or activated by this action.
Real membership is required for an AI connection; platform access alone is not enough. For a platform administrator, a Viewer membership takes precedence over platform administration within that group. Use a separate demo account when you need to keep platform administration available.
